UK's Department of Neurosurgery is focused on teaching residents, delivering highly specialized clinical care and developing cutting-edge research that changes the way patients are treated. Neurosurgery specializes in disorders of the spine, stereotactic surgery and radiosurgery, brain and spinal cord tumors, neurological complications of cancer, neuro-oncology and intractable epilepsy.

UK is the seventh in the nation and the only hospital in Kentucky to add Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, which is a revolutionary method of brain surgery that allows our specialists to operate on the brain without cutting the skin.
