A collaborative and growing interdisciplinary research team in Lexington, Kentucky is looking for an innovative and enthusiastic Ph.D. graduate to join our group as a postdoctoral scholar. This position offers the opportunity to integrate discovery research in biological and computational sciences to address major biomedical health questions. The position will be renewed annually and can be extended for 3 years. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package in a stimulating and interactive learning environment.
This postdoctoral educational opportunity centers on biological, computational, and statistical aspects of mRNA transcriptome analyses. Deep sequencing technologies are being applied to the mRNA transcriptome to identify and differentiate all mRNA variants in a sample, quantitate steady state expression levels, link individual mRNA transcripts to genomic DNA haplotypes, and predict translational parameters. Computational and analytical methods are being developed to record, analyze, and compare mRNA transcriptomes using RNA sequencing technologies. The position will provide opportunities for mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students working on related projects.
