Center for Muscle Biology


Welcome from the Director

The Center for Muscle Biology was established in 2004 to support world-class basic, clinical and translational research relating to striated and smooth muscle across the campus of the University of Kentucky.

Center Members are currently Principal Investigators on 31 active NIH grants. An additional 27 NIH grants have been completed. New federal funding for Center Members in 2009 includes two separate NIH Challenge Grants awarded as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Work by Center Members has led to more than 140 publications in peer-reviewed journals in the last 5 years.
