I earned my Ph.D. in Neurolinguistics from the University of Lucknow in India in 2006.  I worked as a postdoctoral scholar at the National Brain Research  Center in India where I used fMRI to understand the cortical organization of language in monolinguals and bilinguals, including the roles of different cognitive abilities (phonological processing, orthographical processing, and semantic processing).

I am currently a postdoctoral scholar in the CNL, and I am working on a monolingual/bilingual fMRI study in an attempt to assess the neuro-correlates of language learning.  My major research interest is in the neural underpinnings of language and reading development in monolingual and bilingual children and adults.  I investigate these issues using a variety of behavioral and brain imaging methods (fMRI, PET, and ERP).  I am also interested in clinical research regarding different forms of language disorders (dyslexia, specific impairment, and aphasia).
