What is the UK Medical Professions Placement Service?

HISTORY

We began as the University of Kentucky Physician Placement Service in 1990. Our service was created by the Kentucky legislature in an effort to increase the number of health professionals in Kentucky, as well as to assist in retention of those professionals. In 1993 we expanded our service to include nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and physician assistants. Our name then was changed to Medical Professions Placement Service (MPPS).  Due to the great need for CRNAs in Kentucky, we have recently added the specialty to our efforts.

WE LOVE KENTUCKY! Our recruiters are salaried (non-commissioned) and have a genuine interest in insuring quality health care providers for our family, friends, and neighbors.

PERMANENT PLACEMENT

Our service has been successful in its task, as we have filled more than 180 positions for facilities and groups throughout Kentucky, as well as neighboring cities in Indiana and Ohio. Most of our candidates are graduates of the UK College of Medicine, residencies, fellowships, and other health professions programs because of our proximity to them. However, we advertise nationally for positions in Kentucky and invite anyone who is interested in moving to the state to contact us.

There is no cost to candidates for using our service, and our cost to client facilities is less than half the cost of national placement firms. We pride ourselves on servicing our clients and candidates because of our extensive knowledge of the needs of each party.
