Images A-C. Lytic infection of HSV-1(17+/pR20.5/5) in ND-PC12 cells.

ND-PC12 were infected with HSV-1(17+/pR20.5/5) at MOI=5 following seven days of neuronal differentiation with NGF. Fluorescent microscopy of representative GFP-virus infected cells on day 3 (A) and day 5 (B and C) post-infection by using a x20 objective lens. (select image for larger view)

Electron photomicrograph of ND10 structures overexpressing PML in the nucleus of pHF fibroblasts infected with HSV-1(F) at 3hrs after infection. Panel A is a low magnification showing multiple ND10 structures as delineated by circles. Panel B is a higher magnification showing ND10 structures containing 15nm colloidal gold indicating the presence of PML. Panel C showing a typical ND10 structure containing both PML labeled with 15nm, and ICP O labeled with 5nm colloidal gold. (select image for larger view)
