Flow Cytometry

Flow CytometryThe UK Flow Cytometry Service Facility provides state-of-the-art analysis and sorting of single-cell populations for research.  The facility has three flow cytometers: a Becton-Dickinson LSRII and a FACSCalibur for analytical services and a Cytomation MoFlo high speed sorter for cell sorting and analysis.  The facility also has an automated magnetic cell sorter, the Miltenyi Biotec AutoMACS system.  Researchers can schedule to have their samples analyzed/sorted for membrane, cytoplasmic and nuclear antigen expression, light-scattering properties, DNA content, cell cycles, and apoptosis, as well as measure intracellular biochemical changes such as calcium flux and pH. Researchers must schedule time at least 72 hours in advance.
