Compensation and Payroll Initiatives

The College of Medicine continues to integrate its clinical operations with those of the broader UK HealthCare organization in order to be more efficient and strategically aligned. In the months ahead, we will be taking important steps in this direction, starting with two major initiatives:

Payroll Process Improvements – All College of Medicine Staff
This initiative has been designed to make payroll improvements resulting in faster processes, less redundancy, improved data integrity and cost savings to the organization. Based on the recommendation of a taskforce charged with promoting efficiency, a pilot group will begin using an electronic timekeeping system for staff in January 2009. The departments in the pilot group are the College of Medicine Dean’s Office; Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; and Psychiatry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Compensation Scale and System Integration – Clinical Staff Only
Staff in College of Medicine clinical departments will soon transition from the University’s compensation and payroll structure to a centralized UK HealthCare system. This move will help reinforce our shared sense of purpose across the health care enterprise and streamline processes.

When this transition takes effect in January 2009, staff in clinical departments will move from their current, respective campus pay grades to corresponding UK HealthCare pay grades.
