UK HealthCare Administrative Fellowship

UKHCAF

Summer Program for Administrative Interns or Students

The UK HealthCare Enterprise will consider a volunteer summer internship for students in the MBA, MHA, MPH or equivalent master-level program starting in the second year seeking to gain practical experience and insight in healthcare operations.

The summer internship program is a 12 to 13 week unpaid program.  Completion of the internship does not guarantee placement for the fellowship here or elsewhere but rather affords experience to be a  competitive candidate in the future.

The summer program will offer opportunities to:

Gain wide exposure to various aspects and units of the UKHealthCare Enterprise

  • Improve knowledge of the organization of a fully integrated academic medical center
  • Strengthen health care or administrative experience through project work
  • Observe managerial-level meetings
  • Improve management, leadership, communication, networking, and analytical skills

A student will be:

  • Assigned to a preceptor at the leadership level
  • Exposed to different areas that lie outside the immediate assignment, if desired
  • Assigned a project to complete during the internship

Upon successful completion of the summer program, participants will be invited to apply to the UK HealthCare Administrative Fellowship program.
