Fifty years ago, the first class of the College ventured to what was a former cornfield in pursuit of a medical degree from the state’s flagship medical school. Sept. 23, marks the date of the Medical Center and College of Medicine dedication in 1960. Following tradition, the College will host the traditional opening event of the academic year with convocation speaker Lois Nora, M.D., J.D., MBA, president of the Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy and dean of the College of Medicine.
