Application Process for Visiting Students from AOA-Accredited Osteopathic Medical Schools

Please follow the steps below to apply for a visiting medical student rotation at the University of Kentucky:

  • Applications for the 2009-2010 academic year (beginning July 1, 2009) will not be processed until May 1, 2009.
  • Complete the Application For Visiting Student Elective (PDF).
  • Have the dean or authorized official from your medical school complete the section on page two, sign and affix the school's seal.
  • Send the completed application along with a non-refundable $50.00 application fee to the address below.
  • Allow at least four weeks from receipt date of your application for a response. You will be notified by e-mail of the response to your application.
  • If you are accepted for a visiting student rotation and decide not to accept it or to withdraw from it you must notify Renee Seidel, visiting student coordinator, at least one month prior to the start of the rotation. Failure to provide notification of withdrawal from an approved rotation will be reported to the Dean of your medical school.
  • Do not contact any clinical department until after you have received approval for a visiting rotation.
  • If accepted for a rotation, you will be informed of the time and place for your orientation. You must complete this orientation before you can begin any part of the rotation. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of your rotation.
