Elective in Behavioral ScienceCOURSE TITLE: Elective in Behavioral Science COURSE DIRECTOR:
John Wilson, PhD OBJECTIVES: The Behavioral Science elective for first and second year students is designed to afford students an opportunity to work closely with faculty members on research topics of mutual interest. These electives are offered with flexibility in time and content so that students may take a Behavioral Science elective in which Behavioral Science faculty collaborate with faculty from other departments, or may plan a sequence of first and second year electives in Behavioral Science. Specific topics are negotiable between students and faculty and include, but are not limited to:
Students will be evaluated on completion of objectives mutually agreed upon by the individual faculty member and student. In the past, such objectives have included completion of a paper, completion of an annotated bibliography, completion of a research tasks, or completion of laboratory or field experiences related to the specific topic chosen by the student. Such objectives will be explicitly formulated at the beginning of the clerkship. Elective activities will include programs of directed reading supported by conferences with faculty members, and opportunities to design modest studies and collect and analyze data.
