Academic Year 2008-2009

Period 1: August 4 – 29, 2008

Period 2: September 2 ‑ 26, 2008 (begins on Tuesday due to Labor Day Holiday)

Period 3: September 29 ‑ October 24, 2008

Period 4: October 27 ‑ November 21, 2008

Period 5: November 24, 2008 - January 16, 2009
Includes:
- one four week rotation
- two weeks of interview break
- two weeks of winter break

Period 6 **January 20 ‑ February 13, 2009
**Begins on Tues. due to MLK Holiday

Period 7: February 16 – March13, 2009 (ACPA)

Period 8: March 16 - April 10, 2009

Period 9: April 13 ‑ May 8, 2009

Dean's Colloquium: May 11 & 12, 2009

Graduation: Saturday, May 16, 2009

Schedule changes must be submitted by the following dates (four weeks before the start of the rotation):

Period 5        October 24, 2008
Period 6        December 19, 2008
Period 8        February 13, 2009
Period 9        March 13, 2009

The only exceptions to the Change of Clerkship deadlines that will be considered by the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs are:

1. Difficulty with arrangements for an extramural or late notification of acceptance in an extramural for which application was made in a timely manner, or

2. Serious illness or family emergency.

Orientation I: Required class meeting to introduce 4th year curriculum and scheduling process.
NOTE: Students leaving for AHEC rotations must attend special orientation on Monday, January 28, noon to 1:00.

Deadline for turning in schedule form to Beth Hartmann, Registrar

March 21-27, 2008
Schedules posted on web with over-subscribed courses noted.  Opportunity for students to make schedule changes to resolve conflicts

Tuesday, April 1, 2008
Class meeting for lottery to resolve remaining schedule conflicts

Friday, April 4, 2008
Deadline for revised schedules from students losing in lottery

Saturday, April 19, 2008
Matchworks: This program is designed to begin discussing the residency application process including the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the San Francisco application program as well as the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) commonly referred to as the Match.
