Applications are solicited by Financial Aid.
Charles G. & Edith J. Dickerson
One award is made to a rising fourth year medical student who is enrolled in one of the UK health sciences professions colleges. Each college nominates one student based on academic excellence, financial need (FAFSA required); practice interest in Primary Care in an underserved area in Kentucky (no actual service commitment required); applications are solicited by Financial Aid.
Jonas Fields Scholarship Fund
May be awarded to a medical student (may be one-year or renewable); financial need (FAFSA required); satisfactory academic progress; U.S. citizen who is a member of a group that is disadvantaged/under-represented in population.
Emily Neil Griggs Memorial

Kentucky Medical Association Alliance Fund
Awarded to third and fourth year students (not renewable); academic excellence; preference for a resident of Kentucky with intent to practice in Kentucky (no actual service commitment required)

Ethelyn O'Neal Fellowship
Must be a first year medical student in the College of Medicine based on the following preferences:
1. Graduate of high schools in Union County with practice interest in the city of Sturgis (Union County).
2. Graduate of high schools in Union County with practice interest in Union County.
3. Graduate of high schools in Union County.
4. Graduate of high schools in Crittenden, Webster or Hopkins counties with practice interest in any of the three counties.

Awarded to an entering first year medical student (renewable); academic excellence; native of Kentucky from Madison, Breathitt or Johnson counties; financial need (FAFSA required).
Dr. Eileen R. Scheryl
Awarded to a fourth year medical student; academic excellence; interest in Internal Medicine
Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS)
May be awarded to medical students (not renewable); good academic standing; financial need (FAFSA required and must include parents financial information); student must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident and meet disadvantaged criteria, (i.e. environmental or economic—based on low-income thresholds according to family size as established by the Department of Health & Hyman Services). This is a federal program and awards are dependent on annual funding.
Eloise C. Smith & Dr. E. Vernon Smith Medical Scholarship
Awarded to a medial student(s) based on academic excellence, a Greenup County, Kentucky resident, and must commit to a minimum of five service years of medical practice following completion of degree requirements and any post-doctoral training. Non-compliance of the scholarship agreement does require that the scholarship be repaid in full as a loan.

Awarded to a rising third year medical student (not renewable); academic excellence; demonstrated leadership ability in the College of Medicine
