4. Graduate of high schools in Crittenden, Webster or Hopkins counties with practice interest in any of the three counties.

Rural Kentucky Medical Scholarship Fund

Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS)
May be awarded to medical students (not renewable); good academic standing; financial need (FAFSA required and must include parents financial information); student must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident and meet disadvantaged criteria, (i.e. environmental or economic—based on low-income thresholds according to family size as established by the Department of Health & Hyman Services). This is a federal program and awards are dependent on annual funding.
Eloise C. Smith & Dr. E. Vernon Smith Medical Scholarship
Awarded to a medial student(s) based on academic excellence, a Greenup County, Kentucky resident, and must commit to a minimum of five service years of medical practice following completion of degree requirements and any post-doctoral training. Non-compliance of the scholarship agreement does require that the scholarship be repaid in full as a loan. Application.
