Everyone from the Dean who still teaches students and residents during his regular Dean’s Clinic to our professors who realize educating goes beyond the typical classroom lecture, at UK, we take pride in educating future physicians and scientists. But don’t take our word for it. Here are just a few of the awards and recognitions we’ve recently achieved.

• In 2007, UK became one of only four institutions in the nation to offer a tuition guarantee pilot program – providing students the ability to better plan their financial obligations while attending medical school.
• Our students score above the national pass-rate average on USMLE Steps 1 and 2.
• UK developed the Kentucky Medical Curriculum, which is a recognized model for other medical colleges around the nation, emphasizing early clinical experiences, integration of the basic and clinical sciences, and innovative teaching methods, such as problem-based learning and standardized patients.
• Solucient ranked UK among the top 15 academic medical centers and top 100 hospitals in the nation. We are the only academic medical center in Kentucky to make the list.
• Sixty-four of our physicians were named to last year’s list of Best Doctors in America®. UK has more physicians on this list than any other hospital in the state of Kentucky.
• UK is on the cutting-edge in medical research with contracts and grants exceeding $127 million last year alone.
• UK is one of only eight institutions in the world to be recognized in the 2004 Academic Medicine for our medical education research productivity. 
• All six of our Basic Science Departments and two of our Clinical Departments are in the NIH Top 20.
• UK developed the nation’s first and consistently top ranked Department of Behavioral Science, which assists in developing students’ interest in public health and patient assessment.
