Computer Lab Policies

The College of Medicine Lab policies are as follows:

  1. Food and drink are NOT permitted in the lab. Any damage to lab equipment or environment is the responsibility of the person who caused the damage.

  2. The equipment in the lab is set up to serve the needs of the College. Do not modify equipment configurations, remove software or install personal software on lab equipment. Please obtain permission for personal software installation from the lab staff.

  3. The lab's primary function is to meet the educational needs of the College. Gaming, 'surfing' the Web for entertainment and 'chatting' on the Net are extremely low priority activities. Lab users with legitimate educational projects will be given priority in time, help and space, and will always supplant casual use.

  4. Loud, distracting activities and conversations are prohibited. Be considerate of others.

  5. Pornographic materials are strictly prohibited. These materials will be immediately erased if they are present on lab equipment and the owner may be traced.

Violation of these policies will result in reprimand, reporting of the offender's activity or revocation of laboratory privileges as situation dictates.
