Assistance to Faculty Members

Academic Computing in Medical Education, ACME, provides direct instructional assistance to faculty members through loan of the interactive audience response system, loan of computer/multimedia presentation equipment, loan of the portable computer laboratory and overnight loan of laptop computers for educational use.

ACME helps further the professional development goals of faculty members by providing workshops on computer and multimedia presentation, courseware selection and authoring, computer telecommunications and e-mail, as well as medical informatics and clinical applications.

ACME also offers professional consultation in educational design and computer applications, technical support in the use of computers and other instructional technology, and production assistance for computer-based lectures and clinical cases.

In addition, ACME staff are prepared to collaborate with faculty members who wish to study the effectiveness of computer-based instructional materials.
