Our Goal
We believe that our dedicated students and supportive faculty members distinguish our program from other programs. Our goal is to provide our students the training and skills necessary to successfully bridge the worlds of science and medicine in the 21st century.

Our Mission
Our mission at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine M.D./Ph.D. Program is to:

• train independent physician scientists to be leaders in careers in academic medicine, industry, and government,
• provide excellent education in our combined medical and graduate program,
• prepare our graduates to bring clinical perspectives into the laboratory and apply scientific fundamentals to patient care,
• foster a supportive, engaging environment with an active, diverse student community and open communication between student and faculty members and
• seek and nurture innovation, creativity, desire, and enthusiasm for life-long learning and commitment to this program's mission in all prospective and current students.
