Patient Management

Content: Students learn about numerous inquiry functions in the Patient Management system, including how to view chart locations, physicians' numbers, patients' chief complaints, dates of visits, patients' medical record numbers, and many other pieces of patient and physician data. They also learn the basics of using BEEP, the on-call system, and BPER.
Access: Employees must have supervisor permission to attend class and PM access must be part of the employee's job functions. Computer access (user ID and password) to the PM program is requested for each participant after successful completion of the class.

ACE Outpatient
Registration

Class Manual
Prerequisite: None; students will learn the Patient Management functions on the ACE system.
Content: This very intensive class must be taken in the consecutive 4 days and 1 additional session 2 weeks after class. During the initial 4 day class, students learn all facets of outpatient registration including basic registration, how to check and correct data, and how to add information that is presented after the patient has been registered using ACE system. The class contains formal insurance training provided by the KMSF Insurance Specialist. (The insurance helpline pager number is 222-6328). The additional 4 hour session covers entering patient data and insurances on PM mainframe system. If a student performs poorly, the trainer will contact the supervisor to report the student is having difficulty. The supervisor may decide to have the student take the whole class again at a later date.
Access: If a student performs well in class, computer access allowing the student to register patients will be assigned after completion of this class. If a student does not perform well, the computer access for registration will not be assigned, and a trainer will contact the supervisor to discuss options for repeating classes to get the student up to the required competency level. Students receive access to OP Reg after the completion of class. Within 60 days, they must successfully pass certification. Students who fail to complete certification may retake it, but their access will be revoked until they retake and pass the certification. Supervisors will be informed if there is any interruption in OP Reg functions.

ACE
Outpatient Registration
Certification

Prerequisite: Students must have completed the Outpatient Registration course to be allowed to take this test.
Content: Students should bring their completed checklists to the exam. Students must score 90 percent or above to pass the test.
Access: If students pass the test, their computer access to register patients will be permanent. Students who fail the test, may take the test again for a maximum of 2times. The trainer will contact the supervisor of any student who fails the test to discuss options for repeating classes and/or the exam to get the student up to a required competency level.

OP Registration /Insurance Refresher

Prerequisite: Students must have completed the Outpatient Registration course to attend this class.
Content: This class is mandatory for students who have failed OP Registration Certification and is an optional class for those who need or want to review the registration process as well as the insurance refresher provided by a KMSF Insurance Specialist. (The insurance helpline pager number is 222-6328.) The first hour will be a review of Outpatient Registration procedures. The remaining time will focus on Insurance procedures.

Registration Cancellation
Prerequisite: All students must have
successfully
completed ACE-OP Registration Certification to attend this class. Supervisors must register
students for this class.
Users will not have access to registration cancellation functions until
they attend this class. This class is offered to staff who have taken and passed OP
Registration Certification. It is recommended that each clinic supervisor designate
1-2 people in his/her area to perform registration cancellation functions which correct
erroneous registration data. This class is taught on an as-needed basis.

Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM)
SCM View Only & Competency

Prerequisite: There is no prerequisite for this class.

functions.
Content: Participants will learn how to view patient information from the Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM) system. Participants will be shown how to view available items for viewing depending on their job function. Participants will also learn how to create criteria-based and private patient lists in SCM. A competency will be given at the end of the class. Competency must be passed in order to get access to SCM.
Access: Employees must have supervisor permission to attend class and Sunrise Clinical Manager access must be part of the employee's job functions. Access to the SCM system is requested for each participant after successful completion of the class which includes passing the competency.

Sunrise Clinical Viewer (SCV)
Intro to Sunrise Clinical Viewer

Prerequisite: There is no prerequisite for this class.

Content: Participants will learn how to view results from the Sunrise Clinical Viewer (SCV) system and access discharge summaries, post op reports, ED notes, and ECGs. Participants will also learn how to view patient demographic information and visit history.
Access: Employees must have supervisor permission to attend class and Sunrise Clinical Viewer access must be part of the employee's job functions. Access to the SCV system is requested for each participant after successful completion of the class.

Resource Scheduling
RSS
Inquiry

Class Manual
Prerequisite: Students must have completed the Introduction to Patient Management class unless they have had ACE Out Patient Registration training which includes the Patient Management functions.
Content: RSS is the patient appointment system which shows the patients scheduled appointments. Students learn how to view patients appointments, physicians schedules, and all types of resource schedules.
Access: The RSS password is given to each student during this class.

Booking

Class Manual
Prerequisite: All students must complete RSS Inquiry before they are allowed to take this class.
Content: Students learn how to book patient appointments for existing and new patients, how to reschedule and cancel appointments, and learn insurance procedures. Beginning in October, the Booking class will be presented in two half day sessions. Both sessions (part 1 & 2) must be taken consecutively to get Booking access.
Access: The RSS Booking Certification class is required for this class and must be completed within a 60-day period following the class. Students must score 90% or above to pass the certification. Students who fail the certification test, may retake it. Any students who do not pass the certification test within 60 days of the class will have their computer access to book patient appointments revoked. Students receive the "temporary password" when they leave this class so that they can practice booking and perform well on their certification exam.

RSS

Content: Students must score 90 percent or above to pass the test.
Access: If students pass the test, their computer access (password) to register patients will become permanent. Students who fail the test, may take the test again within the 60 day period. Any student who does not pass the certification test within 60 days of the class, will have the computer access to book patient appointments revoked. The trainer will contact the supervisor of any student who fails the test to discuss options for repeating classes and/or the exam to get the student up to a required competency level. Insurance testing is part of this certification and staff must pass both insurance and computer competency to pass. The certification test may only be taken twice.

Content: Students must score 90% or above to pass the test and it
must be taken and passed within 30 days of completing RSS Advanced Booking class.

you will appreciate this class. Learn to manage, move, copy, find, and
delete files and folders using two convenient tools that are already on your PC:
My Computer and Windows Explorer. This class is part of HRD's Navigating
Your PC Series and is one of the 10 courses required to complete HRDs Computer

Outlook 2003 Quickstart

Prerequisite: Keyboarding and mouse skills.
Content: This class is intended for those new to the Outlook Exchange desktop (aka "client version") e-mail program. It will be beneficial to those having Outlook setup on their own work PC. Topics include reading and sending messages, creating a signature, using the Global Address List (GAL), file attachments, creating contacts and Distribution Lists, deleting messages and recovering deleted items.

Outlook 2003 Intermediate

Prerequisite: Introduction to Outlook or proficiency in the skills covered in that class.
Content: This class is intended for those with email ids on the Exchange server and familiar with the Outlook e-mail program. Topics will include calendar functions like appointments, events and meetings. Learn how to share and delegate items and folders as well as opening another's calendar with their permission. Organizing email and using the rules wizard will also be presented. As time permits, enjoy a brief viewing of Outlook Web Access.
