Kentucky TeleCare uses special videoconference technology that connects through a plain phone line to connect hospitalized patients to their families who live far away.

One special application allowed a patient to be able to attend her daughter’s regional cheerleading competition from her hospital bed. She had never missed a competition, and she was able to see and hear the event from her hospital room and her daughter and family were able to visit with her from the floor of the gym.
