Educational Telemedicine
Educational telemedicine is the use of interactive videoconferencing to extend healthcare-related educational programming to rural healthcare sites across the state. Providing high-quality education directly to these community sites makes it easy for rural practice clinicians to participate in all the educational programming available to practitioners in the University Medical Center. Most the programs provide continuing education credits for practitioners, allowing them to meet the educational requirements of their licensing board without having to leave their local practice. Several Grand Rounds programs and medical student educational programs are offered each week, along with special programs requested by the network sites.
