Dr. Romanelli coordinates the third-professional-year course Contemporary Aspects of Pharmacy Practice (CAPP) III. Within this course he instructs modules in physical assessment, Top 200 drugs and clinical toxicology. Other courses within the College of Pharmacy where Dr. Romanelli lectures include: Integrated Therapeutics, Pharmacologic Basis of Antibiotics, and Nutrition and Disease Prevention. Within the College of Nursing, Dr. Romanelli lectures in the course Biologic Phenomenon and Chronic Illnesses and within the College of Allied Health, Dr. Romanelli lectures in the PA Clinical Seminar Series, as well as in the PA Clinical Lecture Series. Dr. Romanelli’s teaching activity also includes precepting PA and pharmacy students within the Infectious Disease Clinic and pharmacy students and residents within the Medical Intensive Care Unit.

Dr. Romanelli maintains an active practice within the University of Kentucky Infectious Disease Clinic, specializing as a clinical pharmacy specialist in HIV/AIDS. In this capacity he counsels and educates patients with regard to HIV and AIDS, as well as the proper use of antiretroviral medications. He also is involved in the selection and monitoring of appropriate antiretrovirals. Within the clinic, Dr. Romanelli precepts pharmacy and physician assistant students, as well as residents.
