The following tables present a summary of deaths for Kentucky children under age 18 for years 1990 through 1998. The actual numbers of fatalities were compiled for the following age groups: infants under 1 year, 1 through 4, 5 through 9, 10 through 14, and 15 through 17. Injury deaths are categorized to reflect the most prevalent causes for deaths of children and adolescents under 18. Non-injury deaths are not broken down, except for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), which is listed in parentheses next to the total for the age group.
