Heather Jackson, M.Ed, CADC, LPCA

SUD Education & Outreach Coordinator

 

Heather Jackson is a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Education and Outreach Coordinator on the Kentucky Drug Overdose Prevention Program. Her current project is developing a real-time substance use disorder (SUD) treatment availability website for the state of Kentucky in an effort to improve timeliness of SUD treatment referrals to appropriate treatment facilities based on need, type of substance abuse, insurance stance, and circumstances. 

 

Heather is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with several years of experience in substance use treatment.  She is also a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate with experience treating adults and youth diagnosed with mental health issues.  Heather holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Pikeville and a Master’s in Education and Counseling from Morehead State University.  Her research interest includes the genetic, environmental, social, and cultural influences on substance use disorders and seeking treatment.
