Amber Kizewski, MA

SUD Education and Outreach Coordinator

Amber Kizewski is a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Education and Outreach Coordinator on the Kentucky Drug Overdose Prevention Program. Her main focus, with a team, is developing a real-time SUD treatment availability website for the state of Kentucky in an effort to improve timeliness of SUD treatment referrals to appropriate treatment facilities based on need, type of substance abuse, insurance stance, and circumstances. An additional focus is establishing a statewide SUD information repository.

Amber holds a BA in Sociology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MA in Sociology from Colorado State University. Before joining KIPRC, she worked primarily in the field of social welfare, working with both adults and children impacted by substance use, mental health disorders and conditions, homelessness, and poverty.  Her interests include investigating the nature and scope of opioid abuse, evaluating evidence-based practices and community interventions, and improving knowledge about and access to substance use treatment.
