This position works in the Cardiology Clinic of the Department of Internal Medicine. Duties include but are not limited to preparing a patient for a visit (i.e. taking vitals, rooming, chaperoning exam), completing basic chart documentation, preparing ancillary test forms, assisting with patient education, retrieving lab results from computer and ancillary clinics, assisting in meeting the needs of each patient, scheduling and faxing consult appointments for patients, checking insurance information, obtaining authorizations, pre-certifications and consults, working with insurance specialists, obtaining ABN for testing on Medicare patients, and booking return appointments for patients using APM. May be required to travel to outreach clinics.
