OverviewIBS students have embraced the opportunity to explore their own interests and to develop new interests as they rotate across multiple departments and investigate research avenues unknown to them during their undergraduate years. Even the rare student who arrives with and pursues a specific research focus is able to confirm this core interest through the undifferentiated format of the first-year curriculum. Each course in the IBS Curriculum presents concepts central to understanding key advances in the biomedical sciences. IBS students also complete four laboratory rotations and participate in research seminars. On completion of IBS, students select their doctoral program based on research interests and mentoring relationships in one of these seven departments:
