Admission to

Baccalaureate Programs

The College of Health Sciences offers these programs which award the Bachelor’s of Health Science Degree (BHS):

  • Communications Sciences and Disorders
  • Clinical Leadership Management
  • Clinical & Reproductive Sciences

Students may apply for ‘pre-professional’ status in these programs: Pre-CSD, Pre-CLM, and Pre-CRS, which you will find on the UK Undergraduate Application available from the Undergraduate Admissions Office. (You will also note that there is a Pre-Physical Therapy — "Pre-PT" — category on the application. This category may not be available for Fall of 2008). These various pre-professional categories are available for students entering as freshmen or for transfer students who have earned less than 60 credit hours.

Baccalaureate programs in the College of Health Sciences are divided into pre-professional and professional programs. A pre-professional program is comprised of courses pre-requisite to professional program content as well as University Studies Program (USP) requirements. Upon completion of pre-requisites and the UK ‘general’ requirements, students apply to the professional programs. Prerequisites and most of the UK USP requirements may be completed at any accredited college or university.

See each program website to learn about the pre-requisites, other application requirements, and the application and its dates and process. We advise that you review the admissions criteria and eligibility for the program of your interest as early as possible as it will help you plan and strategize how to prepare to be successful in these competitive processes. You should also be familiar with the competitive standards of each program to assure your eligibility and competitiveness.

Persons not enrolled at the University of Kentucky must complete applications to both the University of Kentucky and the professional program. Please write or call for applications (link here?).

Deadlines and specific applications instructions are listed for each program at the bottom of this page.. Additional information for each program is available from the Office of Admissions and Student Affairs at the address below.
