Join us in celebrating Allied Health Professions Week: November 4-8, 2013

 

What is Allied Health Professions Week?

Allied Health Professions Week is recognized annually in the first week of November. The purpose of the week is to raise awareness of allied health careers and to recognize and celebrate the many allied health professionals  making valuable contributions to patient care, research, education, and service.


Schedule of Events

Mon., Nov. 4 Free coffee/tea/hot chocolate and Magee's donuts for CHS students
8-10 a.m. (while supplies last)
Wethington lobby
Tues., Nov. 5 Health Fair - open to all UK students
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Student Center
 (in front of Starbucks)
Weds., Nov. 6 Free Papa John's pizza for CHS students
Research in Motion: Interactive demo/discussion of the latest in research w/ Drs. Brian Noehren & Tim Uhl
12-1 p.m.
CHS Student Lounge
Thurs., Nov. 7 Free subs/chips and CHS Swag for CHS students
Careful! Changes Ahead: Discussion of the Affordable Care Act’s Impact on Physician Assistants

Allied Health Professions Possibilities Fair

Attention UK students: You’re invited to join us in celebrating National Allied Health Professions Week. Please join us for the Allied Health Professions Possibilities Fair, Tuesday, November 5, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Student Center (in front of Starbucks). This is your chance to find out if a career in the Allied Health professions is right for you and to take advantage of free health screenings. Stop by to:

• Meet current students and faculty, ask questions, and pick up information on our programs

• Test your flexibility, grip strength and balance

• Get an oral cancer screening

• Enter for your chance to win great prizes

Coat Drive

Coat Drive

CHS is collecting coats for nursing home residents in need. Please contribute by bringing a new or gently used coat to the CHS Office of Student Affairs, 111 Wethington Bldg., by 4:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8.
