CHS Student Affairs
Wayne Centers serves as an Academic Advisor in the College of Health
Sciences. While able to serve all CHS students, Wayne is specifically
responsible for students within the Human Health Sciences degree. Along with
advising, Wayne coordinates the Student Ambassador program, serves as a
planning and leadership partner for the Interprofessional Healthcare
Residential College Living Learning Program, oversees athletic
certification, and serves on the College Retention Committee.
Prior to his career in advising at UK, Wayne’s experience in Higher
Education came largely via opportunities in Residence Life. He served as a
Residence Hall Director at Northern Kentucky University for four years prior
to his arrival. Before this, he served as a Graduate Hall Director at UK in
the South Campus Complex for two years. In these roles, Wayne has
supervised, trained, advised and mentored numerous students within
residential settings spanning various topics including leadership, ethics,
safety, conduct and success. He has also served and been involved
professionally at state, regional and national levels. A UK alum, he gained
his Master’s in Higher Education with a concentration in College Student
Affairs in 2007. He is also a graduate of Berea College where he attained
his Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics in 2005.
Wayne resides in Lexington with his wife (Hannah), his son (Brayden), and
their dog (Klaus).
