Physical Therapy Welcomes
Dr. Brian Noehren

The College of Health Science (CHS) research goals attract both students and faculty to the University of Kentucky every day.  Dr. Brian Noehren, physical therapy faculty member, is a prime example.

Noehren, a native of Trumbull, Connecticut and one of the newest faculty members of the CHS Physical Therapy Division, was intrigued by the college’s research accomplishments and decided to become a part of the team.

“UK has a great environment for conducting research and that is very attractive to me.  The physical therapy program has many well respected educators and very motivated students, which makes UK a great place to work and grow,” said Noehren.  “The environment at Kentucky is great for both teaching and being involved in research.”

In the classroom, Noehren’s main priority is to pass on his knowledge to his students.

“I have had the chance to learn from great professors and other physical therapists.  I want to pass on that knowledge and love for learning to the next generation of physical therapists,” he said.

Noehren also gets great pleasure out of helping the community.

“I find great satisfaction and happiness in being able to help enable someone to regain lost functional abilities and reduce pain,” said Noehren. “No matter the setting, it is great to be able to help others.”

Noehren graduated from the University of Connecticut, with Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy in 2000. Soon thereafter, he attended the University of Connecticut and received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2001. Noehren will obtain his Ph.D. Biomechanics and Movement Science this spring from the University of Delaware.

When Noehren is not in the classroom, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.  He also enjoys running, hiking, backpacking and cooking on his off time.
