CHS Soap Drive

The CHS Student Ambassadors are leading a semester-long Soap Drive to benefit the residents of Shady Lawn and Parkside Manor in Cynthiana. As many of you know, our own Linda Allen generously devotes much of her time to the residents of these homes.

You can help by bringing bars of soap or other toiletries (shampoo, lotion, etc.) to the Office of Student Affairs, CTW 111. These items are part of the everyday routine for us, but to the residents of Shady Lawn and Parkside Manor, these items are a small luxury. The goal is 1,000 bars. Click here to download the flyer.

Open Invitation to Students - NCUR

Please pass this information on to your undergraduate students and encourage them to attend NCUR as their respective schedules allow. They are particularly encouraged to attend the social events that are planned. Faculty are also invited to attend any portion of the program at no charge.

“ALL University of Kentucky faculty, staff and non-presenting students are welcome to attend conference events free of charge. There is no need to register. This does not include access to meal tickets or ticketed events. T-shirts will be available for purchase on-site. If ticketed events are not sold out by the day of the event, non-registered UK students may have the option of purchasing tickets. UK students are encouraged to volunteer.”

A reminder that we are still in need of faculty and students to assist with managing the Graduate School Fair table Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. Please bring any materials you would like displayed on the table to Cynthia Byars and we will see that they are available. Cultural Diversity Festival

The University of Kentucky’s Cultural Diversity Festival is a long standing tradition celebrating the diversity of thought, experiences, and culture within our campus and local community. During the month of March, a wide variety of events have been scheduled to entertain, enlighten, enrich, and educate all those who choose to participate in or attend these events.

The Cultural Diversity Festival event is UK Live at the Lyric….a talent showcase, in its 4th year, on Friday, March 28th, starting at 7:00 p.m.  Members of the University community, as well as the Lexington area community, will be treated to diverse performances in the historic Lyric Theatre. A full calendar of events is published on the CDF web site, with updates added regularly.  Be sure to take time to review all scheduled events so that you can take advantage of all that the Cultural Diversity Festival has to offer this year.

The mission of the University of Kentucky Cultural Diversity Festival is to promote cultural awareness to the UK campus and Lexington community. The festival is devoted to highlighting the wealth of diversity represented at UK and strives to engage all students, faculty and staff, as well as the Lexington community, through fostering dialogue, encouraging new experiences and promoting unity.
