Two HHS Students in a Leadership Role with the UK Student Health Advisory Committee

Two HHS students have taken a leadership role with the UK Student Health Advisory Committee. Brittanie Mahanna is the Chair of the UK SHAC, and Kelly Snowden is serving as Co-Chair. SHAC is an active group of students who work with the University Health Service to provide important consumer/student input and makes recommendations to UHS and to the administration of the University relating to the Health Service budget, the student health insurance plan, recruitment of Health Service professional staff, health education, and any health related matter of interest to UK students.

Back to TopNew Platform to Connect with Potential Collaborators

Researchers may now access the UK-specific KNODE portal to search for collaborators, particularly in the biomedical field, and their scientific content (pubs, grants, clinical trials, etc.).  KNODE automatically generates and updates profiles, but one can still manually edit a profile.  Researchers are able to “claim their profile” so that they can further edit them.  For more information on KNODE, visit the website. Or to go right into searching via expertise, investigator name, or affiliation, visit click here.

Please pass this information on to your undergraduate students and encourage them to attend NCUR as their respective schedules allow. They are particularly encouraged to attend the social events that are planned. Faculty are also invited to attend any portion of the program at no charge.

“ALL University of Kentucky faculty, staff and non-presenting students are welcome to attend conference events free of charge. There is no need to register. This does not include access to meal tickets or ticketed events. T-shirts will be available for purchase on-site. If ticketed events are not sold out by the day of the event, non-registered UK students may have the option of purchasing tickets. UK students are encouraged to volunteer.”

A reminder that we are still in need of faculty and students to assist with managing the Graduate School Fair table Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. Please bring any materials you would like displayed on the table to Cynthia Byars and we will see that they are available.
