Education Abroad Site Visit Grants Available

Will you be traveling abroad this year?  If so, perhaps you can squeeze in a half-day or so to visit one of UK’s education abroad programs. Education Abroad maintains a small fund to encourage and support UK faculty and staff members to conduct brief site visits to our established education abroad programs. Knowing that UK faculty and staff members often travel abroad, the intent of the grant is to cover additional expenses associated with conducting a site visit (i.e., housing, meals, local transportation).

Grant recipients are asked to provide feedback on the program to Education Aboard in support of our mission to continually assess and improve our programming for UK students. A typical site visit is usually limited to one day or less and generally includes such activities as touring the partner campus and facilities, meeting with onsite faculty and staff, observing classes, visiting internship sites, seeing student housing, meeting with students, etc.

To learn more about this funding opportunity and to submit a proposal online, see: Education Abroad Program Site Visit Grant. To find out where UK has programs, click here.

Markey Receives NCI Designation

The UK Markey Cancer Center has earned National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation. This is a distinction that signifies national excellence in clinical care and cancer research. Markey is the only NCI-designated cancer center in Kentucky and one of only a handful in the nation. To earn this designation, the center had to pass a rigorous review process.
