Kingston Award for Excellence in Teaching
The Kingston Award Committee has selected Karen Skaff and Sam Powdrill to receive the 2011 Kingston Award for Excellence in Teaching. They were chosen based on their innocative work in developing and sustaining the use of standardized patients in the Physician Assistant Studies program. This effort has lead to substantial HRSA funding and has gained recognition beyond UK. Tp date, more than 2,500 standardized patient encounters have been completed by PAS students.

CHS Award Recipients
The Research Advisory Committee (RAC) met on 2/4/11 to vote for the CHS Research Award recipient from the nominees provided. Although a single award is typically given each year in one of the 2 categories (Distinguished Research Award and Young Investigator Award), two candidates are so exceptional, the RAC voted to give 2 research awards.

Physical Therapy Career Fair
The Division of Physical Therapy will be hosting its annual PT Career Fair today, Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. – noon throughout the first two floors of the Wethington Building. This will be followed by afternoon interviews for the third year PT students.
We anticipate 160 PT students will participate in the morning Fair and nearly 60 in interviews.Back to Top

More than $150,000 in scholarships are available for students interested in education abroad opportunities. Individual awards range from $750 to $1,500. UK Libraries will be assessing service quality by asking faculty and students to complete the national LibQUAL survey from February 14-28. Data from the survey will help UK Libraries understand faculty and student expectations and perceptions of library service.
A sample of faculty and students will receive an e-mail message (via UK e-mail) with a link to the survey. This year’s shortened version of the survey, LibQUAL Lite, will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Your participation is appreciated, and undergraduate and graduate students who complete the survey are entered in a drawing to win a free iPad.Back to Top
