College of Health SciencesHuman Health SciencesThe Human Health Sciences (HHS) baccalaureate program prepares undergraduate students for future health care careers in a dynamic, interprofessional healthcare environment. Graduates of this program will have a strong foundation in the basic sciences and develop competencies in healthcare skills and knowledge, thereby maximizing professional career opportunities. This program is not intended to replace traditional pathways leading to healthcare careers; instead, it is intended to offer a unique alternative embracing interdisciplinary education with a broad exposure to health care practices, policies and management for those seeking careers in healthcare and the health professions. Specifically, the degree offers four options for
students' interested in future graduate or professional study in
Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Physician Assistant programs.
This degree also prepares students for work in a variety of other
fields, including mid-level management or supervision across healthcare
environments, medical or pharmaceutical sales, and community health
advocacy. Students graduating from this program would also be
competitive for other graduate disciplines.
