Virginia Valentin, MCMS, PA-C

Virginia Valentin joined the Division of Physician Assistant faculty in April 2012. She graduated from nursing school at Weber State University in 1999. While working as a Registered Nurse she earned a BS in Psychology from the University of Utah in 2001. She then earned a Master’s degree (MCMS) from Barry University Physician Assistant program in 2007. Before coming to the University of Kentucky, Professor Valentin worked in the areas of oncology, neurosurgery, and hematology/bone marrow transplant. With nearly two decades of experience in health related fields, she has developed a deep interest in issues and developments in healthcare.

In addition to her work in academia, Professor Valentin serves on the board of the Kentucky Physician Assistant Association where she exercises her passion for legislative and membership issues.

From Oregon to Florida, Professor Valentin has had the privilege of living in a variety of diverse communities and is pleased to call the Bluegrass home. Outside of work, she enjoys walking her schnauzers, gardening, and world travel.
