American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Approved Internships Any osteopathic medical student in good standing may choose to participate in the AOA approved traditional internship (OGME-1 T) linked to the following residency programs: Anesthesiology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine - Pediatrics and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The traditional internship is considered the first year of the specific residency program. Potential applicants must participate in the ERAS NMRP match. The University of Kentucky does not participate in the Osteopathic National Matching Service or Osteopathic Match. Applicants applying to other residency programs not mentioned above at the University of Kentucky will not be eligible to participate in the Osteopathic traditional Internship and may later choose to petition the AOA for approval of their internship. Any interested Osteopathic medical student may contact each department individually or by contacting Sara Salles, DO, Osteopathic Director of Medical Education at the University of Kentucky.
