Gifts-in-Kind

These non-monetary items of tangible personal property such as art, rare books, collectibles, automobiles, stamp and coin collections, or other materials of value to the University also may be donated.

If the gift-in-kind is accepted for the University's exempt purposes, the donor may claim a charitable deduction for the fair market value of the gift. A deduction only can be claimed for the property's cost (usually the original amount paid for the property) if the gift-in-kind will not be used for the University's exempt purposes.

For more information, please contact a development officer or Beverly Birdwhistell, Director, Donor Relations, UK Chandler Medical Center at (859) 323–1434.
