Corporate Partners

The University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center Office of Development generates financial support for Medical Center priorities through relationships with corporations, foundations and other philanthropic organizations.

As a grateful recipient of contributions from alumni, friends, corporations and foundations, the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center has several ways it can express its appreciation for a donor’s generosity.

More than 3,000 alumni and friends have been recognized as UK Fellows for their gifts and pledges of $10,000 cash or $50,000 through a deferred gift such as a life insurance policy or a bequest. The UK Fellows Society began in 1965 during the University’s centennial celebration with the purpose of recognizing donors for significant contributions to the University.

The University has a multi-level major donor program to recognize individual as well as corporate donors. Corporations, foundations, trusts, and organizations will be recognized beginning at the Barker Fellows level:

    • Henry Stites Barker Fellows contribute $50,000 or more in cash or a cash equivalent or put in place a deferred gift of $250,000 or more.
    • John Bryan Bowman Fellows contribute $250,000 or more in cash or a cash equivalent or put in place a deferred gift of $1.25 million or more.
    • James Kennedy Patterson Fellows contribute $500,000 or more in cash or a cash equivalent or put in place a deferred gift of $2.5 million or more.
    • Presidential Fellows contribute $1 million or more in cash or a cash equivalent or put in place a deferred gift of $5 million or more.

Many of the colleges have their own recognition programs to complement the University’s programs.

Other forms of recognition include the many naming opportunities that are available to donors. These opportunities may include, for example, naming a scholarship, a professorship or even a building after the donor or to honor or memorialize a donor’s relative. Naming opportunities are provided as well to corporations and foundations.
