Hege has extensive work experience with international studies programs. She has also worked with the Alzheimer’s Association, Lexington/Blugrass Chapter on committees and with their local day center. Her areas of interest include medical anthropology, cross-cultural gerontology, rural aging, life history and life course perspectives. Her dissertation project is entitled: “Family history and the culture of care in Appalachia.” She is currently employed by the Kentucky School of Public Health as project coordinator for the Paducah Workers’ Health Assessment Initiative.
