Rebecca's primary research focuses on international public health and human rights with a specific emphasis on regions within the Middle East, and aging in the context of population displacement, conflict, and the ethical distribution of health resources. She currently serves on the University Appeals Board at the University of Kentucky and is a Representative in the Graduate Student Congress. Her recent paper titled, Associations Between Domains of Permeability and Quality of Life Among Residents of Senior Care Communities, won the 2006 Interdisciplinary Paper Award from ESPO, Gerontological Society of America. She is currently a Research Assistant for the Kentucky Permeability Study, under Graham D. Rowles (PI) and John F. Watkins (Co-PI). Rebecca is also a volunteer for Hospice of the Bluegrass and holds a Master's degree in Statistics
