Julie BrownJulie Brown

Hailing from a region of Virginia known for peanuts, ham, and oppressive summer heat, Julie joined the University of Kentucky in 2009.  She decided to alter her career path after volunteering at an assisted living facility as the video game coordinator.  This experience prompted Julie to study gerontechnology at the Graduate Center for Gerontology, with her research focusing on older adults’ use of video games.  Specifically, she is interested in motivational factors and game design for the older adult gamer.  Currently, Julie serves as the Technology Chair for the Emerging Scholar and Professional Organization (ESPO) and is co-developing a student chapter within the International Society for Gerontechnology.  Her other passions include cross-country road trips, camping, dinosaurs, and diners.
