The GCRC Biostatistician reviews all protocols and advises
the GAC prior to
approval of the protocol. Criteria used in this review include
the appropriateness of the study design,
statement of testable
hypotheses linked to the specific
aims of the study,
and choice of endpoints with clear identification of the primary
and secondary endpoints of the study. All
protocol applications
are expected to
have two sections: one describing the data analysis plans and
one discussing statistical power considerations to
justify the proposed
sample size. The GCRC Biostatistician is available to
consult, and
may collaborate
with investigators on study design, implementation, analysis,
interpretation, and dissemination of results.
