| Markey Cancer Center The
Markey Cancer Center at the University of Kentucky Medical Center is dedicated to the
eradication of cancer morbidity and mortality through a comprehensive program of cancer
education, research, patient care and community outreach. Patient care services of the
Center are seamlessly integrated with those of the University Hospital, with certification
by the JCAHO and ACOS. Attending Physicians affiliated with the Center are board certified
in their respective oncologic specialties, and its research scientists are generously
funded by nationally prominent funding agencies, including the National Cancer Institute.
A strong clinical research program offers state of the art treatment options for all types
of cancer, with access to many new and promising treatment drugs and treatment strategies.
Research programs of the center engage over 150 faculty based in 29 departments of 9
