What is the role of this Web site? This Web site is intended to act as a
resource for community-based physicians wishing to make the transition from
physician to physician-educator. Seven instructional modules are presented
that cover a variety of educational topics. Other features include:
Discussion Boards, Category I CME Credit, Medical Spanish, and a Database of
Medically Oriented Web Sites. What topics are covered in the
Instructional Modules? The topics covered are: Student
Orientation, Time Management, Effective Precepting, Feedback/Evaluation, The
Difficult Learner, Documentation Guidelines, and Cultural Competency. How do I access these Instructional
Modules? Simply return to the homepage and click
on one of the seven ‘Instructional Modules’ located in the gray box on the
left side of the home page. For your convenience, abbreviated versions of
these modules are available to download and print. How long will it take to complete each
Instructional Module? Each module can be covered in 15-20
minutes. How do I access the other features of
this Web site? Again, use the gray box on the left
side of the homepage to view the information you require. What is the Discussion Board section? This section gives you the opportunity
to share ideas and ask questions about a variety of educational topics. Each
board can be accessed from the gray box on the left side of the home page. A
University of Kentucky Department of Family Practice faculty member hosts
each topic. You can read any posting by clicking on it. If you want to make a
comment or post a question just click on the ‘Post’ heading. What is the Download section? This section can be found under
‘Additional Resources’ in the gray box on the left side of the home page. A
number of forms can be downloaded and printed out. What is the Medical Spanish section? The medical Spanish section is located
under ‘Additional Resources’ on the home page. Sound files of common terms
will be available in Summer 2001. What is the Internet resources section? This section is also located under
‘Additional Resources’ on the home page. A database of medically oriented Web
sites is listed. Is CME credit available? Category I CME credit will be available
in Summer 2001. |
