The University of Kentucky Medical Center has a long and proud tradition of training its residents and medical students in partnership with community-based physicians. In 1993 the University of Kentucky Medical Center initiated the Community-Based Faculty Initiative. One of the primary goals of this initiative was to provide community-based physicians with the skills needed to become physician educators.

The Community-Based Faculty Initiative combines teleconferencing and annual seminars with this Web based tutorial to provide practitioners with the latest information on community-based preceptor development.
