Dr. Wrightson received his M.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1986, and graduated from residency at the University of Kentucky Family Practice Residency Program in 1989. He was in private practice in Eastern Kentucky and in Lexington before joining the Department of Family Practice in August of 1999 as Associate Residency Director. His emphasis has been on revitalizing the Maternity Care curriculum as well as other residency related studies and issues.  His interests include maternity care, newborn and infant care, health promotion and disease prevention, residency education evaluation and research in obstetrical practice in family medicine.
