Dr. Pearce received his MD from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1983. He completed his residency in Family
Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia / Fairfax Hospital, and has been Board-certified in Family
Medicine since 1986. He later earned his M.P.H. in Epidemiology at the University of Minnesota while completing a Family Medicine Faculty Development Fellowship. Before coming to UK, he served for eight years on the faculty of Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he was
very active in both education and research in Family Medicine. As
Vice Chair for Academic Affairs, Dr. Pearce has been heavily
involved with medical education at UK for the past 8 years. His special teaching interests include
chronic disease management, evidence-based practice, and quality
improvement in primary
care. |
