Dr. Love received her Ph.D. in Child Psychology from the Institute of
Child Development, University of Minnesota, in 1988. In 1990 she
completed a postdoctoral fellowship with the Carolina Consortium on Human
Development at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She was a
Research Associate with the Jordan Institute on Families of the School of
Social Work, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and with the
Department of Family Practice at the University of Kentucky. She has a
joint appointment with the UK School of Public Health.
Dr. Love's research focuses on the delivery of primary health care services, with special interests in practitioner-patient relations and health care outcomes. Her current projects study continuity of care for asthma patients, cancer prevention in primary care, social support mechanisms to improve diabetic patients' cardiovascular health, and access to care in Kentucky. She collaborates with faculty and resident colleagues in the department and across campus.
She is the Research Director of the Kentucky Ambulatory Network
(KAN), the Kentucky primary care practice-based research network. |
